July 23- August 23, 2024 Scoping Comments
DOT&PF has launched a National Environmental Policy Act process for the West Susitna Access Road project. A public comment period for scoping was held from July 23 to August 23, 2024 and is now closed. Another public comment period will be held with delivery of the draft Environmental Assessment (EA) in early 2025. Stay tuned for details.
Alaska residents are encouraged to continued to share their thoughts on the project’s plan to build an approximately 22-mile road to improve access to 6 million acres of undeveloped land in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough. The road would connect to the existing road system and open up the area for recreation, tourism, and potential future development.
